The Faculty Menu allows administrators and Faculty to view and edit the faculty’s personal degree history, the courses they have taught at this or other institutions, are teaching or about to teach at this institution, and any other personal, academic or payment information related to the faculty member.

The Faculty Menu allows administrators and Faculty to view and edit the faculty’s personal degree history, the courses they have taught at this or other institutions, are teaching or about to teach at this institution, and any other personal, academic or payment information related to the faculty member. The full set of features provided by CAPS for administrators is accessed through the Faculty Menu. Faculty members access CAPS through the Faculty Portal which provides access to the CAPS system as a whole, and to their personal faculty information, where appropriate.

Administrative use ONLY:

  • Assist faculty course assignment by using ‘fields of interest’ from their transcripts
  • Enforce rules on faculty workload - such as maximum credits per term
  • Access external vendor’s data and systems through the use of APIs
  • Generate stipend amounts based on teaching history and other rules for pay level

Administrative or Faculty portal use:

  • Enter Attendance for their courses
  • Enter Grades for their courses
  • View Faculty’s Degree History – ie view the faculty’s transcript,Graduate and undergraduate transcripts
  • View Faculty’s Teaching History at this Institution
  • View Faculty’s Teaching History at other institutions

Faculty reports:

  • Tentative course assignments list
  • EOE(?) reports
  • Sections the require special approvals
  • Generate Faculty contracts with workload and stipend amounts
